Cleaning MVS
Slots
You need both
clean carts and clean slots. One can make the other dirty, and either
can make your game play less than perfect. Toddy sent me this tip
on how to clean your slots safely.
|
|
Use
a good electronics cleaner. I like this stuff from the Shack. The
nice part is that it has a built in brush. Perfect for cleaning slots.
|
|
For ease of
illustration, I took the cover off the PCB. You don't have to, but
you may find it easier.
Wet the brush
with the cleaner, and GENTLY brush the contacts in each slot. Don't
brush too hard, or you can bend the contacts and have major problems.

|
If
you get a cleaner that does not have a brush built in, use an old
toothbrush. |
|
Clean
the slot the same as with the built in brush. Not too hard. Wait for
the cleaner to dry, and you are all set. |
