Here is the
Power setup when I got the cab. It was made in Japan, and is wired
for 100V which (I guess) is the norm there. All the specks you see
in the back are broken glass from the original bezel. Now that was
fun to clean up...
Close up of
the power line filter. Notice anything? It's all but melted. This
was my first clue that I needed to rewire the whole cabinet. Also
notice that the power cord only has 2 leads. The ground is meant to
be hooked up to the post you see just to the left of the filter. That
has to go too.
Yet another
clue. No airflow at all.
I rewired
the power board with a 120V switching PSU from Bob Roberts and added
a 120V - 100V step down transformer for good measure. The monitor
seemed to work fine at 120V, but I thought this might make it last
longer.
Here it is
mounted in the cab before adding the grounding wires and Jamma harness.
And a new
line filter to boot with grounding lead.
