Custom Wiring

This is an example of a full harness I made for RevQuixo for his Candy cab. He wanted a couple of specific things:

  • Keep most of the original connectors
  • Add a +5V and Ground line to the Player 2 connector for a later Irritating Maze trackball project
  • Add a kick harness for a Sega ST-V board
  • Have the ability to switch from the normal MVS button layout to a 6 button layout.
  • Replace the original buttons on the control panel

Due to the fact that the connectors on his harness are some kind of Japanese Molex / Amp knockoff that I could not find, he had to send me the old harness, the control panel, and the power supply.

I am no longer doing any wiring, custom or otherwise.

This was Rev's old Jamma edge connector.
This is his new Jamma edge connector. Notice any difference?
Here is the full harness without the kick wiring.
Kick wiring with ST-V connector. You can see more about this on the kick wiring page here.
Close up of the ST-V connector on the kick harness. It has Molex disconnects so you can interchange the board connector for another pinout.
Underside of the Candy control panel.
Power supply wiring.
